The Association of Pickleball Players (APP) held its first “major” tournament of the year this past weekend at its Fort Lauderdale “The Fort” headquarters. Nearly 1,000 pros and amateurs descended on the facility, which also houses the sport’s first ever dedicated youth and teaching academy. By the end of the weekend, we’d seen something we haven’t seen on tour in a couple years; a male Triple Crown winner.

This past weekend, the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) returned to North Carolina for the fourth time, visiting the Cary Tennis Center in the Raleigh-Durham area for the 2025 Veolia North Carolina Open. More than 1200 players entered the massive event, which drew from healthy communities all up and down the mid-Atlantic. This past weekend, the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) tour traveled to perhaps its most unique venue for the 2025 Black Desert Resort Red Rock Open. The event was held in tiny St. George, Utah, a small town in southwestern Utah, nestled next to Zion National Park and a little less than two hours from Las Vegas. The remoteness of this site has led to some attendance issues in the past, as some players struggle with the challenges the small town has in terms of hotels and restaurants.

This past weekend, the Association of Pickleball Players (APP) headed to the Cayman Islands for a “test run” of a pro stop in George Town, at the brand new 24-court Pickleball Cayman facility just outside the city center. A slew of top APP touring pros took advantage of the recent cancellation of PWR commitments to take a quick Caribbean vacation and hit up Grand Cayman Island for a weekend of fun and competition.
