    LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Meridian Township residents could be asked to approve a millage and bonds for up to $40 million to pay for the construction and operation of a senior center or a senior center and community center. The Township Board will vote on one of five proposals for the new center on Thursday, May 8. Voters will be asked to decide the issue during the August election. The township has $5 million from a state budget allocation that it must spend by Oct. 1, 2026, or forfeit it.

Lansing Police Department spokeswoman Jordan Gulkis tells 6 News, “There were no tickets given Friday night related to street racing or reckless driving.”An estimated 75 cars and 100 people gathered at Everett Plaza to protest a Thursday decision by Ingham County Circuit Court Judge Rosemarie Aquafina.

    LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The owner of Kristana Estates in Dewitt Township has apologized for the way residents were directed to move from the mobile home community. “If you’re looking for somebody to point the finger at, at the end of the day, it’s going to be me because I’m the owner,” Ara Darakjian, owner of TIR Equites and Kristana Estates, says.  While Darakjian says he has taken responsibility for his actions, but residents still aren’t satisfied.

    LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A social media post is calling for a “street race” Friday night to encourage the reopening of the Sloan Onondaga Dragway. Lansing Mayor Andy Schor told 6 News the city is “ready to act if anyone drives recklessly and puts the lives of people in danger.”The “protest” comes the day after Ingham County Circuit Court Judge Rosemarie Aqualina issued an injunction to stop races at Sloan’s Onondaga Dragway.
