Big 12 Board Chair and Baylor President Linda Livingstone announced that the Big 12 Board of Directors has voted to extend Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark’s contract for an additional three years through the 2029-30 academic year. Yormark was named the Big 12’s fifth Commissioner in June of 2022.. “On behalf of the Big 12 Conference Board of Directors, we are pleased to extend Commissioner Brett Yormark’s contract an additional three years past the remaining two years of his existing agreement.

Iowa State women’s basketball coach Bill Fennelly has announced the signing of Evangelia Paulk ahead of the 2025-26 season. Paulk comes to Ames from Wofford College and will have two years of eligibility remaining. She is the second transfer to commit to the Cyclones, joining Arizona transfer Jada Williams. “We could not be more excited to add Evangelia to the Iowa State family,” said Fennelly.

Jesse Shaw and Xavier Kurth have been named to the University of Iowa men’s basketball program’s coaching staff. Shaw will serve as the Hawkeyes’ chief of staff, while Kurth will be the director of player development. The duo spent the 2024-25 season at Drake, where they helped the Bulldogs enjoy unprecedented success. Drake racked up a school-record 31 victories and claimed both the Missouri Valley Conference regular season and tournament titles.

Lappe’s latest accolade adds to an already impressive stretch, as she also earned her second Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Player of the Week award of the season on Monday.

Warren Niles and Kyle Ryan have been named to the Drake men’s basketball coaching staff, head coach Eric Henderson announced on Monday. Niles joins the program as an assistant coach and Ryan will serve as the Director of Basketball Operations. Niles comes to Des Moines after spending the past three seasons as an assistant under Chris Crutchfield at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He also has coaching experience serving as a graduate assistant for the Oregon men’s basketball team.
