Boys basketball: Avon Lake hires T.J. Kwasniak as coach to replace Eric Smith Avon Lake turned to one of the most storied basketball families in Northeast Ohio to find its next head coach. Big night for Avon Lake at All-Star wrestling meetELYRIA — It was a big night for Avon Lake at the 43rd annual Lorain County Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association All-Star Meet on Thursday at Elyria High School. Seniors Rejan Al-Hashash and Jack Valerino were presented the Paul Reynolds Trophy as the top female and male wrestlers, while Avon Lake boys coach Scott Sedlick was named Division I Coach of the Year, and Dennis Copfer took home girls Coach of the Year honors.
