This article is part of our Weekly Hitter Rankings series. As mentioned in this week's pitching rankings, BABIP is climbing. Here's why:MonthHard GBOutfield LDFly BallMar/Apr0.2460.6860.116May0.2620.6820.113More hard grounders are finding holes. While teams may be getting a better read on positioning (now referred to as infield shading), the reason is most likely variance. This article is part of our Weekly Pitcher Rankings series. We're over a week into May, and scoring is lower than last month. However, BABIP is up, and it shouldn't be long before rising temperatures promote more homers - and therefore more scoring. It's fine to remain aggressive with pitching, but be ready to exert more caution. As always, these rankings are based off the Probable Pitchers page, so please direct rotation questions in that direction.

The calendar has turned to May. We’re just over one month in. Is this a checkpoint for fantasy team management? If so, what are some of the things you do? Doug Dennis (BaseballHQ, @dougdennis41): I don’t consider it much of a checkpoint. I scour the waiver wires to fill gaps and improve the squad. But if I believed in a player during the draft, it might be too early to punt said player. If an end-game player, I have already been trying to improve the slot.

And I thought the ghost runner would be the most inane aspect of Manfred's legacy.

We're 25% of the way through the MLB season and I'm eschewing my normal rant. #IYKYK Tanner Houck has sucked all of the vitriol out of me. Go ahead call it the https://t.co/PpI8zpCEV1

Who wants to start a new fantasy league for anyone who has Tanner Houck?
