Swedish real estate company Heimstaden AB is marketing new notes as part of its bid to fend off liquidity pressures intensified by the drying-up of dividends from its subsidiary, major European landlord Heimstaden Bostad. Initial price talk suggests a level of around 8.75% for the euro-denominated bond and a spread of around 600 to 625 basis points over the Stockholm Interbank Offered Rate for the Swedish krona floating-rate note, according to people familiar with the matter.

European bond issuance has reached a record-breaking €1.705 trillion ($1.8 trillion) this year, passing the high-water mark previously set in 2020. Debt sales in the region’s publicly-syndicated market hit the milestone on Thursday, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. The figure includes publicly syndicated issuance of euro, sterling and Reg S dollar-denominated offerings sold in Europe.
