A bill that unanimously passed in the Illinois' House of Representatives would allow the Secretary of State to issue a "special registration plate" that would replicate the plate issued between 1983 and 2001. House Bill 3391 unanimously passed after a third reading and short debate on April 7, meaning the bill now moves to the Senate.

A 19-year-old man died around 1:45 a.m., according to a news release from the office of Sangamon County Sheriff Paula Crouch. Multiple agencies responded to reports of gunshots and a disturbance around 1 a.m. They located the man who had been shot and then took him to the hospital where he later died.
