Question for written answer  E-001861/2024to the CommissionRule 144Tom Berendsen (PPE)In the third quarter of 2024, the volume of imports of Russian LNG through the port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands is double what it was in mid-2022. The Netherlands Government says that this may be linked to the 14th package of sanctions against Russia: as there is a ban on the transhipment of Russian LNG to non-EU countries, resulting residual flows are being imported into the EU.

Question for written answer  E-001376/2024to the CommissionRule 144Tom Berendsen (PPE)EU Member States imported 30 % more Russian gas in May 2024 than in September 2022, according to figures reported by German newspaper Handelsblatt this week[1]. This is in spite of the sanctions against Russia and the Commission’s plans to diversify gas supplies and become independent of Russian gas. On top of this, Russia is using reduced gas prices to push other suppliers out of the market.

The Dutch television programme Max Vakantieman[1]reported this week about a couple where the wife is dependent on a mobility scooter because of her limited mobility. Having booked a trip to Spain, the couple then faced a hefty baggage surcharge for the mobility scooter.
