Alex Palou is quickly becoming the Max Verstappen of the NTT IndyCar Series, as he continued his dominant start to the season by winning at Barber Motorsports Park by over 17 seconds. Sunday’s (May 4) race was his second career triumph in the Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix, earning his third win in the first four races of 2025. The three-stop strategy was executed to perfection and his No. 10 HRC Honda Chip Ganassi Racing crew was flawless in the pits.

While the NTT IndyCar Series doesn’t kick-off this motorsports spiritual holiday at Indianapolis anymore, it’s slowly building the tradition by racing at one of the best road courses on the schedule. This Sunday (May 4) is the 14th running of the Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix at Barber Motorsports Park. Sitting in the rolling hills of NASCAR country, the track has become a staple as a spring event, putting on great racing over the 17-turn, 2.3-mile circuit.

Kyle Kirkwood pushed aside Alex Palou, the driver of the year so far, for the pole for Sunday’s (April 13) Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach in the NTT IndyCar Series. Kirkwood scored the fast lap with a time of 1:06.91 seconds. Not only did the No. 27 beat the defending NTT IndyCar Series champion, fellow teammate Colton Herta will also be on the outside of the front row. Palou will line up third, with technical alliance teammate Felix Rosenqvist fourth.
