Nebraska public broadcasters are among the first in the nation to launch a free “virtual” channel over NextGen TV and the former CTO of Nebraska Public Media was at the ATSC NextGen Broadcast meeting in Washington D.C. last week to demonstrate its capabilities. As part of its extensive capabilities, the ATSC 3.0 advanced television standard—now available to approximately 76% of U.S. TV households—allows broadcasters to launch so-called “virtual” channels.

BURLINGTON, Mass.—Avid today announced an extended agreement with Amazon MGM Studios to integrate Avid’s Media Composer and Avid NEXIS on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The new integration enables the studio’s customers to deploy Avid’s editing and storage solutions via the cloud to fit their specific production needs, Avid said. Amazon MGM Studios and Avid began a strategic collaboration three years ago that will continue as the companies explore ways to integrate other Avid tools via the cloud.

NEW YORK—In a landmark agreement to overtake the burgeoning connected TV (CTV) advertising market, Amazon Ads and Roku today announced a new integration that gives advertisers access to the largest authenticated CTV footprint in the U.S. exclusively through Amazon DSP. The new collaboration, according to the two companies, will deliver logged-in reach to an estimated 80M U.S. Connected TV (CTV) households, representing more than 80% of U.S. CTV households, according to ComScore data.
