    What is your research background & how did this lead to your current work? I followed a relatively traditional path in education and training as an MD and I decided to specialize in the field of electrophysiology, where I was exposed mostly to clinical research. The institution where I started working is the OLV hospital in Aalst, where I also trained and which has a long-standing history of doing clinical research.
