Sivaraman says Australia’s institutions “maintain white power and privilege” and labels Australia Day as “Invasion Day”. 3AW Mornings host Tom Elliott thinks Sivaraman has done quite well out of Australia, despite speaking about the country’s supposed systemic racism. “We’re paying this bloke to tell us how awful we are,” Elliott said on 3AW Mornings.

Tom Elliott has weighed in on the trade war between the United States and China, and how it could impact Australia. US President Donald Trump has announced the tariff on goods from China will go up to 125 per cent, after Beijing announced an 84 per cent hike on US imports. “Donald Trump’s trade war against China could have a real silver lining for Australia,” the 3AW Mornings host said.

The Victorian Government is on a hiring spree to recruit more prison officers as hundreds of beds have been left empty for over a year due to black mould. Victorian secretary of the Community and Public Sector Union Karen Batt says the union has heard the affected materials had been left out in the elements. “There were concerns prior to the build that was dismissed and so they’ve been built and now they’re unusable,” she told Tom Elliott.
