EXETER – He’s known as The Undertaker. It’s a name synonymous with the World Wrestling Entertainment universe. For some, he’s known as one of the greatest to ever enter the squared circle with the most famous undefeated streaks in Wrestlemania history. Tim Leonard wasn’t happy with his sophomore year. The Wilkes-Barre Area junior was confident in his abilities, and knew he had the talent to become one of the top track athletes in District 2. He just wasn’t happy with how 2024 ended. Leonard was third in the 100 behind Berwick’s Ty Wilkerson and Crestwood’s Jaden Shedlock, and was seventh in the 200 – almost a full second behind Crestwood’s George Jennings.

One year ago, all eyes at Scranton Veterans Memorial Stadium were on a special freshman hurdler from Dallas. Julia Natitus had taken the Wyoming Valley Conference by storm, stamping her name as one of the top runners in the district, despite being a freshman. Things didn't turn out like she planned. She finished second in the 100 hurdles, and fourth in the 300 hurdles. "After what happened at the district meet, it obviously wasn't what I wanted and how I planned it to go," Natitus said.

Some players just have that "it" quality. Kirsten Finarelli was in that category from the first time her cleats hit the varsity softball diamond. Lake-Lehman head coach Nicole Chipego knew way before that. "One of my favorite memories was standing in the third-base coaches box and watching as a very young Kirsten hit her very first home run, which not only cleared the fence, but was hit into the trees in the outfield at the Little League State Tournament at Plymouth Little League," she said.
