The daughter of a dog owner insists she is both shaken and angry after a couple known to her family allegedly stole her mum’s pet last night. Melissa George admits she hadn’t slept a wink following the incident on Thursday evening when Belgian Milanos Poppy was bundled into a car whilst out on a walk. The future of many of the area’s bowling clubs is under threat as local authority chiefs continue to consider a raft of cuts to save money. West Dunbartonshire Council and its leisure trust maintain six bowling clubs in the area and are hoping to save £100,000 by either closing some of them, leasing them out or passing operation to each club’s committee.

The Pavilion Café in Levengrove Park will remain open until May whilst West Dunbartonshire Council seeks a new body to take over the lease of the building after it was agreed the area’s Health and Social Care Partnership (HSPC) would withdraw its management.
