The money, provided by the UK Government, will be spent patrolling areas such as Blackwood, Cwmbran, Tredegar, and Abergavenny, according to the force.

The festival, which was held at Virginia Park in Caerphilly, welcomed more than 120 girls’ and women’s teams, who played across Saturday June 21 and Sunday June 22.

The five-mile walk began at 7pm on Saturday June 21, where walkers set off towards the summit of the 419-metre high hillfort to mark the summer solstice.

Starting things off in Division Two and Newbridge knew they’d be up against it, away to second placed Pontypridd. Batting first, Newbridge managed a total of 175 runs, all out after 41 overs.
