Share CHICAGO (WLS) -- The ABC7 I-Team has learned the White House is expected to name Andrew Boutros as the interim U.S. Attorney in the Northern District of Illinois. Sources with knowledge of the process tell the I-Team U.S. Rep. Darin LaHood, Illinois' highest ranking Republican in Washington, interviewed a number of qualified candidates and passed along at least three names to the White House. Andrew Boutros was not on that list, even though he was interviewed as part of the process.

CHICAGO -- The Department of Homeland Security touted major progress Tuesday in its efforts to deport migrants living in the U.S. without legal permission across the country, but migrant advocates are voicing their skepticism of the numbers. The ABC7 Chicago I-Team has also learned there are new concerns, as Congress is poised to award billions of additional dollars to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, with allegedly little oversight on how that money will be spent.
