OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has revealed it is fighting an order not to delete any user chats, citing privacy concerns. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Altman tweeted that “recently the NYT asked a court to force us to not delete any user chats. We think this was an inappropriate request that sets a bad precedent. We are appealing the decision. We will fight any demand that compromises our users’ privacy; this is a core principle.

Amazon continues efforts to reduce its total headcount, with more layoffs being confirmed among its workforce. Reuters reported Amazon as confirming that it has cut jobs in its Books division, including at its Goodreads review site and Kindle units. According to the report, the Seattle-based retailer said that fewer than 100 workers were impacted and the move was meant to improve efficiency and streamline operations.

Wise is a British fintech firm that provides international money transfers and multi-currency accounts. CNBC noted that in its full-year earnings statement, Wise said it will move to a dual listing, with its main listing hub shifting to the US, while maintaining a secondary listing in London.

CNBC reported that on Wednesday, a panel of judges at the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit denied Apple’s emergency application to halt changes to its App Store that resulted from the company’s legal battle with Epic Games.
