    Quinnipiac!  The name is well-known here in Connecticut: the river, the trail, the roads, the University, and of course the people.   But how much is really known about the first people who settled along the southern Connecticut coastline? Historian and archeologist Jim Powers has researched the history of the Quinnipiac people and the impact European contact had on them.  Powers is also a founding member and the current vice president of theDudley Farm Museum in Guilford.

    Smoke from the massive wildfires in Canada was a serious climate and health concern for our region this year. The sky was filled with a noxious yellow haze that traveled across the northeast, to the Midwest, and even to Europe. The gritty air drove many people to wear masks once again to protect their health. Right now the air has cleared, but concerns over the impact on public health and the environment remain.

    Dr. Katherine Hermes has expanded the history of witch trials in Connecticut. Last year, the historian and publisher of Connecticut Explored Magazine was researching information on the Ancient Burying Ground in Hartford, Connecticut, when she uncovered something surprising - legal documents for a witch trial that occurred long after they supposedly ended in the state. The Full Story host Tom Kuser spoke with Dr. Hermes about her discovery.

    The novel, tells many stories all at once. There’s the coming-of-age story of 3 siblings growing up in Brooklyn. A family story of immigrant parents raising their children in a new country while maintaining their culture and faith. And the story of a community under surveillance by local and federal authorities.
