South Shields Judo Club first partnered with Adam’s school in 2010, and 15 years later, coaches Tommy and Beth Foster are still running taster sessions there, helping young people in the community discover judo. After joining the club, Adam quickly settled in and began training regularly. Now, nearly three years on, he has become a key member of the team, earning a place in the club’s advanced class. While it wasn’t a medal-filled outing, there were plenty of encouraging signs and key lessons learned throughout the week. Tatum Keen (Bradley Stoke JC) impressed on her World Championships debut, securing a confident first-round win before narrowly losing to the reigning European champion, who later went on to claim her second world bronze. A strong performance from the 20-year-old, showing she has a bright future ahead at this level.
