The event was co-presented by Commission Chair Dave Clark, Dan Gradings Manager Dave Horton-Jones, Commission member Nick Fletcher and Refereeing Commission member Martin Rivers. Commission members Kim Tilley, Ben George and Rick Kenney also contributed to the success of the day. The conference was preceded by a Promotions Commission meeting the day before and an Area Director of Examiners meeting in the morning, so the weekend was extremely busy and productive.

Emma Reid (Redbridge) fought on the final day of the event in the -78kg category, beginning her campaign in the Round of 16 against Lithuania’s Migle Julija Dudenaite. Reid made a strong start, scoring waza-ari in under a minute and controlling the contest for the remainder of the fight. This win saw her move swiftly into the quarter-finals, where she faced Slovakia’s Metka Lobnik.
