Looking for a response following the disappointment of losing the 2025 Women’s Challenge Cup Final at Wembley, the Saints went north to Cumbria to face Barrow, who recorded their first win of the league campaign against Warrington Wolves in the previous round. The Saints made a number of lineup changes, with chances to play for the likes of Amy Taylor, Naomi Williams and Alyx Bridge.

Ian Talbot’s young Reserves side came into the fixture on the back of an impressive victory over Huddersfield Giants at Thatto Heath Crusaders, 62-8. Our Red V Reserves had three wins to their record heading into the game against the Red Devils, and were eager to make it four when the Giants came to town. Please note, the Round 6 clash against was postponed to take place this coming Saturday, at the Totally Wicked Stadium.

After a week with a game due to the Challenge Cup Final, the Saints were fired up to go to the home of the Red Devils. Wellens men knew that whilst they are currently bottom of the league and battling a whole host of off-field issues, they would be desperate for a home victory. The Red V were looking to get a second win over Salford in 2025, having beaten them back in February in Round One, 82-0, albeit in difficult circumstances due to Salford’s sustainability cap restriction.
