The high school football mavens placed the Rye Garnets in Section B for the 2023 season, separating them from their all-time rival Harrison in Section A, a move that created an ultra-early September 2 date for The Game’s 96th installment. Both teams had only two weeks to prepare, with Rye eager to exact revenge for a rare loss last year at home. In a ceremony prior to the start of the game, the Chris Mello Scholarship Awardwas presented to Rye’s A.J. Miller and Harrison’s Gianluca Santarelli.

When the first two closed their doors, many culinary tears were shed; both establishments had attracted loyal and appreciative clienteles over their long lives. Where else were we going to go for fine French food and charm and innovative and healthy (other than Paul’s chicken nuggets) takeout?
