    Neom climate advisor Donald Wuebbles has warned that The Line city in Saudi Arabia could alter local weather patterns. Speaking to newspaper Financial Times, Wuebbles explained how he had informed Neom that the scale of the development means it may impact weather patterns and the path of sand storms. "Part of my concern was, what impact is The Line and those [projects] going to have on the local environment...you start affecting the local weather and climate," he said.

    The traditional purpose of an architecture biennale has disappeared, this year's Venice Architecture Biennale curator Carlo Ratti told Dezeen ahead of the event's opening this weekend. According to Ratti, images and information about interesting projects around the world being widely available online has changed the role of a biennale. "We could say that Dezeen, amongst others, killed the traditional form of the biennale," Ratti said.
