The District 10 baseball playoffs included several exciting finishes, but in the end, the No. 1 seed won four of the five classes with championship games. Cathedral Prep was the No. 2 seed and the only non-one seed to win D-10. The D-10 champions all moved on to the PIAA tournament this week. Here are five choices for D-10 baseball playoff MVP. Cathedral Prep defeated rival McDowell 8-1 in a Region 6 baseball game. Starting pitcher Derick Friedman struck out eight and allowed one run in six innings. Davin Friedman closed the game with three strikeouts and had three RBIs.Cathedral Prep first-year baseball coach Frank Lauria had several solid pitchers he could have turned to on Friday. Lauria, however, decided months ago that the Friedman brothers would take the mound against rival McDowell.
