I was reminded of this last week when my own best laid boating plans would also unexpectedly go awry.

That’s something this past season’s bear harvest report, recently released by the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC), confirms once again. “Pennsylvania is home to lots and lots of great bear-friendly habitat, areas with abundant and varied food sources and thick cover,” said Brandon Snavely, the Game Commission’s black bear biologist.
