Few things can quicken the pulse of a Pennsylvania hunter as much as the sound of a Tom turkey’s gobble both near and far. The 2025 spring gobbler season is just about here.

When I arrived at my preferred “fishin’ hole” for Pennsylvania’s opening day for trout season on Saturday morning, I expected a full house of early rising anglers would have already filled the available parking spots. But as I pulled up just a few minutes past 7 a.m. for the 8 a.m. opener I was pleasantly surprised that only one car had already beaten me to it. Subscribe to continue reading this article.
