Palestinians are the people the world would like to forget. They are usually at the centre of conflicts in the Middle East. In the latest — the war between Israel and Hamas — they are once again caught in the middle and are dying in scores. They are shaming the world. Already a Subscriber? Pharmacare, it seems, is doomed. For a while, it appeared that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s minority Liberal government, backed by Jagmeet Singh’s New Democrats, might create a national drug scheme that was both universal and public. Indeed, creation of a real pharmacare program was the NDP’s price for keeping the Trudeau minority government alive.
