For the longest time, I really did love Assassin's Creed Shadows. It delivered on the promise of Assassin's Creed in Feudal Japan in a way I felt Ghost of Tsushima never did, while also offering the series' best narrative in quite some time. There is a lot to love about Assassin's Creed Shadows, and that's largely why I spent a long time defending it and praising it to friends, family, and the internet.

I have a very strenuous relationship with Xbox Game Pass, as I imagine so do many others. It is a service that has consistently offered a lot of content for amazing value, even despite its frequent price hikes, and continues to be the single best reason to buy a Series S. It is available across so many platforms and will likely continue to be integrated across even more. There are seemingly few downsides to Xbox's incredible subscription service, at least on a purely surface-level examination.

The occasional new release saw me return...

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth gets pretty much everything right, from its gameplay to its narrative. It is hard to fault Rebirth as, at least to this JRPG aficionado, it is the perfect experience. Naturally, detractors will point to the game's endless cavalcade of mini-games, some of which are a genuine joy to play through, while others feel like the developers were purposefully trying to test out patience. However, beyond that, the rest of the game is practically perfect.

The end of an era. What a joy it was to be a part of @TheGameCrater. I made some incredible friendships, got to work with the best people, and had the pleasure of covering some of the most unique indies. It will be sorely missed. https://t.co/7HXDe6psHM
