Defending champions Rathgormack are through to the Waterford SFC final for the sixth year in a row after an emphatic eleven point win over The Nire at Fraher Field (1-19 to 2-5). Jason Curry led the way with nine points while Stephen Curry (1-2), Jason Gleeson (0-4), James Power (0-2) and Conor Murray (0-2) also played starring roles. High fielder Peter Walsh was outstanding at midfield. Jamie Barron was, by far and away, The Nire’s best performer.

Comeragh Rangers seek their first Waterford ladies football title tonight in Fraher Field against arch rivals Ballymacarbry. They have lost ten of the last eleven county finals to the girls in blue but joint captain Keeley Corbett Barry is hoping to get over the line on this occasion. "We have learnt so much about ourselves and we really have developed. The character in the team to constantly regroup is just unbelievable. We have the belief and we have the confidence within ourselves.

The Nire held off a late rally from a Paul Whyte inspired Kilrossanty at Fraher Field on Sunday (2-11 to 1-11) to set up a semi final clash with reigning champions Rathgormack. The Comeragh neighbours have met in last three county finals. In a cracking quarter final, first half goals from Ciaran Walsh and Dylan Guiry gave Derek Lyons' side a seven point lead early in the second half but the green and gold never gave up.

Sport The Ballymacarbry ladies stayed on track for 43 county titles in a row with a 3-10 to 2-1 win against Gaultier in Colligan on Saturday morning. Clare Walsh, Aileen Wall and Ruby Browne all found the net for Mike Guiry's side. Goalkeeper Lauren Fitzpatrick made a second half penalty save from Emma Fitzgerald. Ballymac will meet the winners of Comeragh Rangers and Erin's Own in the county final. Emma Fitzgerald and Róisín Kirwan goaled for Gaultier.

Sport Tony Browne has joined Ken McGrath's Waterford Under 20 hurling backroom team for 2025. His appointment was confirmed at tonight's county board meeting in Dungarvan. The 1998 Hurler of the Year replaces outgoing coach Dan Shanahan who will link up with Peter Queally's Déise senior set-up next year. Browne worked with the Tipperary seniors for the past two seasons under Liam Cahill as coaching support. Cahill brought him on board with Waterford in 2022.
