Things get a little more comfortable every day for new Henry County High School football coach Josh Wolfe. The Patriots completed spring practice last week with a scrimmage at Lexington. Size, speed and good shooting ability carried the Bartlett High School Lady Panthers to a 61-39 victory over Henry County on March 8 in a Class 4A sectional basketball game played at Bartlett. Henry County’s loss ended the Lady Patriots’ season with a 19-12 mark. Henry County placed second in the regular season in District 14-4A before winning the district tournament and earning a second-place finish in the Region 7-4A Tournament.

Strong second-half play gave the Henry County High School boys’ basketball team a chance to take two 3-pointers late in the game with an opportunity to go in front of Dickson County in the semifinals of the Region 7-4A Tournament on March 5 in Springfield. The Patriots couldn't make either of those shots and the Cougars survived to capture a 47-43 victory over Henry County. It was Dickson County’s third win over the Patriots this season.

The Henry County High School Lady Patriots basketball team is headed to the Class 4A sectional tournament this weekend. The Lady Patriots finished second in the Region 7-4A tournament this week, losing to Clarksville High School, 35-33, in the championship game on Thursday in Springfield. Clarksville’s Malon Smith sank two free throws with one second left on the clock to give the Lady Wildcats the win.
