Let me start by saying how much I have enjoyed covering SEC football since I was a student at the University of Georgia in 1976. SEC football has taken me a lot of places in this wonderful country and I will always be grateful for all of those fantastic Saturdays in SEC Country. All of those wonderful fans will surely miss you. The SEC has had a great run. I hate to see it go. What? You mean that SEC football is not over? You mean SEC football will be back next season? That can't be true.

The Holiday worked out just fine for your humble prognosticator as we went 7-2. (I picked some bonus games). Now we're down to nine conference championship games which will go a long way in determing the first 12-team bracket in FBS history. Here we go for the 15th and final Saturday of the season. SEC Championship: Georgia vs. Texas, 4 p.m., Atlanta. ABC. The line: Texas is favored by 2.5 points. The pick: These two teams met back on Oct. 19, in Austin with Georgia dominating 30-15.

If I was picking pure winners instead of including point spreads, last week would have been pretty good. I picked Georgia to beat Tennessee in Athens and cover 10. The Bulldogs won by 14, 31-17. I picked Texas to win at Arkansas, their old SWC rival. The Longhorns won 20-10 but did not cover 15. I was convinced that LSU was due for a good game at Florida's Swamp. Wrong. LSU lost 27-16. I was big on South Carolina to win at home against Missouri.

Greetings boys and girls! We are headed to the second Saturday in November with a conference (SEC) that has nine teams with two or fewer losses in league play. What that mean? It means that every Saturday between now and the end of the regular season will feature high-pressure elimination games. Drama, my friends. There will be lots of drama. I was out of pocket last week but this week promises to be a whole lot of fun.

I love this.

How great is this? A minor league baseball player is taken out of the game and told he's been called up to the majors. https://t.co/azaoXX2kN8
