MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WSMV) - Tennessee Governor Bill Lee will speak at the 2024 Republican National Convention on Tuesday. Gov. Lee was not on the original list of expected speakers for the 4-day event in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Lee and his wife, Maria, have been vocal regarding their support for the Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, even before a 20-year-old man attempted to shoot him during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Child run over by horse and buggy in Christian County

PEMBROKE, Ky. (WSMV) - A child was air-lifted to Nashville after being run over by a horse and buggy in Christian County on Saturday morning. According to the Christian County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), an Amish family was riding on their property off Pembroke Oak Grove Road when the buggy rode over a bump, which caused it to jump slightly in the air. A 2-year-old boy was thrown from the buggy and run over, the CCSO reported.
Lawmakers pass bill regulating vehicle booting in Tennessee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Tennessee House and Senate approved a bill that aims to prevent vehicle owners from being unfairly immobilized by unlicensed individuals. SB1692/HB1731 was introduced in January by Sen. Jack Johnson (R-Williamson County) and Rep. Jake McCalmon (R-Williamson County). It passed through both chambers without a single dissenting vote. The bill generally prohibits the booting of vehicles in Tennessee unless by licensed individuals through a local government.
Driver pulled from car after flipping into ditch in Robertson County

Portland, Tenn. (WSMV) - Deputies and emergency response personnel responded to a crash on the interstate on Monday night in Robertson County. According to Smokey Barn News, a small SUV was traveling northbound on I-65 when it drove off the road and rolled, coming to rest upside down in a row of trees. The crash occurred around 9 p.m. at mile marker 113, Smokey Barn reported. The driver was pulled from the vehicle and transported to the hospital for treatment.
Missing Hamilton County woman found safe

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WSMV) - The 80-year-old woman who was reported missing out of Hamilton County on Thursday was located and is safe, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. The TBI reported that Donna Tripp was tracked down in Harris County, Mississippi, over the weekend. She had been missing from Chattanooga since Thursday, April 4. UPDATE: Donna Tripp was located in Harris County, Mississippi over the weekend.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Tennessee Titans and head coach Mike Vrabel are parting ways, according to a team source. Tennessee Titans Controlling Owner Amy Adams Strunk said the decision to part ways with Vrabel was the most difficult she’s made in her position. “Last year, we began a shift in our approach to football leadership and made several changes to our personnel to advance that plan,” Strunk said in a statement.
Woman allegedly pulled from rollover crash by ‘good Samaritan’ in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. (WSMV) - A woman was hospitalized after her SUV rolled over after crashing with another car on Christmas Eve in Springfield. According to Smokey Barn News, the woman was driving with a child on East 22nd Avenue when she crashed with a red sedan at the Mooreland Drive intersection around 6 p.m. on Sunday. The crash caused her SUV to nearly overturn and it came to rest on its side.
Catastrophic Tornado Outbreak in Middle Tennessee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Multiple tornadoes touched down across Middle Tennessee causing catastrophic structural damage and death across multiple areas. Two adults and one child died in Clarksville as a result of a tornado, and the county declared a State of Emergency, establishing a curfew of 9 p.m. for both Saturday and Sunday. “I am declaring the City of Clarksville to be under a State of Emergency,” Mayor Joe Pitts announced.
