And perhaps we should have all seen those traits coming. He was pushed relentlessly as a kid when he was coached by his father, Roger. Murray used to practice game-winning shots in his driveway.

Calvin Booth and the Denver Nuggets held extensive talks on a contract extension and he was convinced it would inevitably be agreed upon, sources tell The Athletic. Booth made a final push to increase his salary that still would have been significantly less than Michael Malone's more than $10 million per season average. The Nuggets have been widely known to pay front office executives below typical market value.

All of the assistant coaches on the Denver Nuggets staff are on expiring contracts, sources told The Athletic. Michael Malone, who was fired on Tuesday, was the only coach on the staff who had a contract that ran past this season. David Adelman was named the interim coach of the team following Malone's dismissal. General manager Calvin Booth, who was also on an expiring contract, was fired on Tuesday.

The tension between Michael Malone and Calvin Booth arose from Booth wanting Malone to play younger players he drafted instead of the veterans on the roster. Booth was reportedly "dismayed" that Malone played Russell Westbrook over Jalen Pickett down the stretch of recent games. Malone and Booth were both fired by the Nuggets on Tuesday. It was reported that the growing tension between the coach and general manager had turned into a "cold war."

I think Draymond is an all-time great defender, and I never pretended otherwise. You won't get any argument from me in terms of how good he is on that side of the ball

@Tjonesonthenba So you wouldn't argue with him being top-7 all-time, behind only hall-of-famers, with him being #1 in his generation? I have him higher, but your assessment isn't disrespectful. I'm with Kerr - he's the best I've ever seen.

I would say 3-5 is the same tier of player....maybe that extends into 6 or 7

@Tjonesonthenba Am I crazy to think the talent gap from 3-5 really isn’t enough to stress over? I was just ticked about the Mavs and Spurs being the ones that jumped into those top two slots

You aren't talented enough. That's probably what's stopping you, individually

If NBA reporters are allowed to talk like this without repercussions for showing any sort of bias, I wonder what's stopping any of the small-time team-based analysts/journalists from getting jobs in the industry?
