Scientific rationale for study: There is a need to update recommendations related to education in periodontology, originally developed by the first European Federation of Periodontology Workshop in 2009. Principal findings: Learning outcomes in undergraduate and specialist education have been updated, and a structured proposal was made for continuing professional development.
