    BAIRD, Texas — Meals on Wheels in Baird is in need of a site manager and volunteers, and that’s a problem. Without people here to run day-to-day operations, it could get a lot harder to make sure meals get to the people who really need them. In Baird, Meals on Wheels provides a hot meal and a familiar face to more than 140 people every weekday. But behind the scenes, the team that makes it all happen is running short. Right now, the list of backup drivers has shrunk from 12 to just three.
