I have been a staunch nonbeliever in God’s existence for as long as I can remember. So, when my girlfriend proposed the idea of visiting a holy place, I wasn’t sure how I would fit in. Will I have the freedom to eat what I want, to drink wherever I like, to listen to the music I prefer, and, most importantly, will it be okay if I don’t scream “Jai” (A holy cry that followers shout during and after prayers) at the end of every prayer?
