After an arduous 18 months, it's time to farewell Wanda. This is the nickname for the lightweight wheelchair that ferried me around while living with a "dynamic disability" as part of long COVID. While I was grateful for the mobility, this experience revealed glaring problems with accessibility in Australia. To be frank, travelling by air was a nightmare. In October 2022, a hire car driver threatened to abandon me outside the Virgin Australia terminal at Sydney Airport.
