Caregivers were recruited while the care recipient was in the hospital and interviewed an average of 18 days following hospital discharge to limit recall bias. Health professionals were recruited using purposeful criterion sampling to ensure different professions were represented.

Leesburg Dairy Barn is the creation of Joey Wilson and Raymond Friend, who were already partners in another business, The Barn & Cabin Friend, LLC. They missed having a soft-serve ice cream place in their hometown and decided to use their construction expertise to build a restaurant that would feature ice cream and some of their favorite foods.
