Keys softball teams made the most of the 2025 season. Key West went 16-8 after a fantastic run into the postseason that didn’t stop at a district championship. The Lady Conchs took out one team after another until reaching the elite eight of 4A softball. Almost as exciting as their district title, the Lady Conchs return a majority of their talented roster to continue their legacy of winning. Coral Shores finished the season 5-6 after going winless one year prior.

Key West knew it would be a year to rebuild, and the team’s hard work built skills, confidence and camaraderie. The Lady Conchs finished the season 6-9, with one of the wins coming in the postseason. The team returns multiple key players and, despite some heavy losses in their outgoing seniors, should be solid in the coming seasons. Coral Shores finished 2-10, but the team made the wins count. Both came against district opponents, with one in the postseason.

Monroe County has just two boys weightlifting teams, and this year, both earned a district championship. The Dolphins and Hurricanes share an Olympic title and Marathon won the traditional title outright. Between the teams, there were five district champs winning a combined eight titles, 32 regional qualifiers, two regional champions and four bids to the state meet.

Monroe County’s girls track and field teams each enjoyed success this season, with top finishes in multiple field events for Marathon and Key West plus broken records on the track for Coral Shores. The Hurricanes sent one athlete to states to compete on the track, while Marathon sent two to represent the Keys in the field. Key West mixed things up with one runner and two field participants qualifying for the big show.

Monroe County’s boys track athletes made the most of the 2025 season, setting personal bests, breaking school records and amassing an impressive haul of medals. Coral Shores had one district champion and set multiple new records while Marathon sent two athletes to the top spot at the podium. Key West had four district champs and swept the gold medals in throwing events. The Fins sent two boys track athletes to states while the Conchs filled the vans with seven, all competing in field events.
