    The Lewisville High softball team came out of a bit of a layoff on Monday, but were able to get right back in the swing of things. The Lady Lions knocked off region foe Lee Central by a score of 18-0. The team actually suffered a rare loss in its previous game (against Legion Collegiate) but improved to 14-3 overall and 9-0 in region play with Monday’s victory.     As a player who has worked out of the bullpen since being drafted in 2018, Evan Sisk has gotten the call hundreds of times. On Saturday, though, he got the call every baseball player dreams of. Sisk, the Lewisville High School graduate, was called up from Triple-A Omaha over the weekend and was added to the roster of the Kansas City Royals, officially making him a Major League Baseball player.

    There has been disagreement and differences on display at many recent Great Falls Town Council meetings, but the five candidates for mayor in next week’s special election all seemed to agree on a lot of the issues facing Great Falls. The Great Falls Hometown Association hosted a meet-and-greet and candidate forum last week, moderated by former Chester City Councilwoman Angela Douglas.

    Another revelation has come from the ongoing audit of the City of Chester’s trash pickup, one that could net the City thousands of dollars a month in additional fees. The City entered into an agreement with the Chester Metropolitan District (CMD) in 1999 whereby CMD would attach trash collection fees onto water bills for City residents. However, holes have formed in the system over the course of 26 years, resulting any many customers paying no fees at all and many having more than one trash can.
