Despite its best efforts, Wolf Creek still manages to stay off the radar of most front-range skiers. This and the epic amount of snow they receive every year are what makes the mountain so special. Any resort that boasts a 430” average snowfall would normally be swarming with locals and tourists alike – but not Wolf Creek. It’s more of a snow sanctuary that lies just far enough from any major city so that only the true heads are willing to make the trek.

In a nutshell, Colorado is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise. Rafting, mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking, and camping are just a few of the epic things to take part in during mud season and the summer. That said, when someone mentions Colorado, ski season is what comes to mind for most people who have been lucky enough to experience the state during the colder months. Two things that the state isn’t in short supply of are top-tier ski resorts and big snow storms during the winter and spring.

The simpler of the two external ski storage devices for your vehicle are known as racks. They will almost always attach to the roof of your car or on top of your truck bed. To mount racks on a car or truck, the vehicle needs to first have rails or a frame installed so that the racks have a sturdy anchor point. Some vehicles come from the factory with rails installed already, this is especially common in 4WD/AWD vehicles from manufacturers like Toyota and Subaru.

Our passion for skiing is undeniable. Most of our lives revolve around it during the winter and it’s all we think about during the off-season. When we talk about our love of the sport, we also need to confront the impacts that such a massive industry has on the planet. Unfortunately, the ski industry can harm the environment, but in acknowledging these drawbacks, we can do a better job implementing solutions and mitigating some of the environmental harm that comes along with the industry.
