COLUMBUS — Plenty of purple and gold was on the track on Day 1 of the Division I state meet as the Avon girls were well-represented. Get used to seeing those colors again on Day 2. The Eagles brought a large flock down to Columbus and they were ready to go with solid performances across the board on June 6 at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. “We have a great contingent tomorrow. We are well represented across all the disciplines,” Avon coach Sam Ulery said.
