One of just two fillies in the race, Femminile has relished the quick turnaround from last week’s Oaks to take out the Group 1 South Australian Derby (2500m) at Morphettville on Saturday for trainer Phillip Stokes. Under a cool Lachlan Neindorf, the daughter of Dundeel didn’t have to go around a horse after sneaking runs along the rail, booting clear to score by three-quarters of a length as a $19 chance over $3.40 favourite Statuario, with $6.50 chance Lavalier a further length away in third.

Impressive last start Group 2 Reisling Stakes (1200m) winner Tempted has firmed into $5.00 second elect after drawing barrier one behind the Chris Waller trained Wodeton at $4.50, who will jump from barrier two.

We’re back at Flemington again on Saturday for a competitive ten race card. No feature racing this week after we got It'sourtime home in the Standish last week but the stand out horse, and our best bet, comes up in Race 8 in the form of Deakin. He came to Australia rated 105 on the RAS scale, achieved when second to one-time Melbourne Cup fancy Crystal Black at the Curragh off a long spell.
