Many areas in the Mid-South, including Memphis, saw over a foot of rain over a four day period. All of that rainfall is now filtering into area rivers, leading to a rise in water levels and flooding.

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday are all Weather Impact Alert Days due to this threat. Heavy storms are likely Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Wednesday evening will feature the highest risk of severe thunderstorms, including a risk of damaging wind gusts, hail, and strong tornadoes.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Some thunderstorms could turn severe with a risk of high wind gusts and hail in the Memphis area on Sunday evening, March 23. Scattered thunderstorms will develop in the Memphis area Sunday evening and Sunday night. While these storms will be a bit spaced apart and won't hit every neighborhood, any storm that does develop could produce hail over an inch and wind gusts close to 60 mph.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A winter storm will bring snow and sleet to the Memphis area on Tuesday night, February 18. Bitterly cold air will remain in place for the rest of the week. A wintry mix of snow and sleet will move through Memphis and the Mid-South Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Several inches of snow and sleet accumulation are likely in parts of the Mid-South. Accumulations will be highest north of Interstate 40, where there will be more snow and less sleet.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Heavy rain and severe thunderstorms are possible in the Memphis area on Saturday, February 15. The ABC24 Weather Team has declared Saturday a Weather Impact Alert day due to this severe weather and flooding potential. Heavy rain will begin late Friday night and continue through most of the day Saturday. An additional 2 to 5 inches of rain accumulation is likely, on top of the 2 to 3 inches most of the area has already seen this week.
