UNITED STATES—On Wednesday, April 9, 2025, the SF District Attorney’s Office announced that Jason Fayad, 34, was convicted after a trial by jury for stabbing a man in the Tenderloin District. Fayad was convicted of assault with a deadly weapon (PC 245(a)(1)). According to the testimony and evidence presented at trial, On November 8, 2023, the victim was walking down Leavenworth Street near Turk, when he was brutally attacked by approximately eight men.

A total of six males, two females, and one youth male were all booked for charges related to illegal narcotics sales.

SAN FRANCISCO—On Apil 3, 2025, the San Francisco Police Department reported that a habitual shoplifter in the region has been arrested. The SFPD reported on December 4, 2024, Marcel Criner, 57, was arrested for a petty theft incident that occurred at a retail store on the 1300-block of Castro St. The singular petty theft incidents result in a cite and release for suspects, but officers were notified about four other petty theft incidents by the same suspect at the same store.

SAN FRANCISCO—On March 14, the SF District Attorney’s Office announced that Colton Sheppard, 36, was charged in connection to three shoplifting incidents at a CVS in Union Square that he is barred from. He was arraigned on March 13, and pleaded not guilty to all charges. He is charged with two counts of petty theft with two or more priors (PC 666.1(a)(1)/488), two counts of violating a stay away order (PC 166(a)(4)), and one count of shoplifting (PC 459.5(a)).

SAN FRANCISCO—On March 20, the San Francisco Police Department reported that it completed a Drug Market Crackdown that led to more than 40 arrests. The operation transpired at Market and Van Ness Streets during the early morning hours. A total of 41 people were arrested with 17 being booked in jail for drug related charges and outstanding warrants. Twenty-four individuals were cited for drug-related charges, including narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and loitering for drug activity.

SAN FRANCISCO—On March 19, the San Francisco Police Department announced that they seized 5 loaded firearms in the Ingleside District. The SFPD reported that on March 14, officers from the Community Violence Reduction Team (CVRT) were patrolling the area of the 1800 block of Sunnydale Avenue when they spotted a large group of unknown individuals standing around a parked vehicle. As officers approached, the group started fleeing from the area.
