So, we all love and trust him in the horror community. That trust is especially true when it comes to King suggesting movies, comics, or games. Michael Keaton was out this week comparing the Beetlejuice sequel to the original. Best of all he says that it will be highly based in practical effects. Now, Jenna Ortega is spilling tea on her character Astrid Deetz. As we already know, Ortega’s character is the daughter of Lydia Deetz and is also strange and unusual. While speaking with Vanity Fair, Ortega got a chance to talk about Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

After seventy years of being shut down, the iconic EC Comics is coming back by way of Oni Comics. Originally founded as an educational comics brand, it would later become a publisher known for its horror comics and tales to keep you up late at night. William Gaines lead the way and during his time we were gifted with a run of comics such as Tales From the Crypt, The Haunt of Fear, The Vault of Horror, and of course Weird Science among others.

Eli Roth’s Borderlands is well on its way to a theater near you. The Gearbox Software game adaptation looks to take its characters, costumes, and the world of Pandora right from the game. So, that is a good sign. However, we are still on the fence with this one. We will have a better idea of what to expect when a trailer drops tomorrow. Today we have our first look at some images from the film along with a hyper-neon fun poster.

It feels like a ‘Beetlejuice’ sequel has been in the works for over 100 years. However, the timeline for an official production is much shorter and not as cluttered with faux fan posters. We’ve gotten spoilery glimpses of outdoor sets thanks to paparazzi and even seen some characters in costume. Everything so far boasts a handcrafted look. Additionally, it’s a bonus that Michael Keaton himself has said the sequel feels like the original and that it will be practical.

Luc Besson has achieved a great deal in his career, with standout successes including ‘The Fifth Element’ and ‘Léon: The Professional’. Having just those two films on your résumé would be enough to confidently drop the mic and walk away into the sunset. He must be feeling particularly inspired at the moment, as the director has decided to undertake the massive project of adapting ‘Dracula’ for his next film.

This would be something interesting to see. Christopher Nolan stated in an interview with British Film Institute that “…at some point, I’d love to make a horror film“. Nolan has had some horror elements in a few of his films including Oppenheimer, Memento, and Insomnia. A whole horror film made by him would be interesting to see. YouTuber and all-around Content Creating Madman built a real-life and working Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. Of course, this comes complete with hulking, dead-eyed, killer animatronics. This awesome feat is based on and inspired by the massively popular game Five Nights at Freddy’s released in 2014.

One of the biggest surprises from a Netflix release in recent history comes from R.L. Stine’s Fear Street trilogy. The entire thing took place across multiple generations of time and was incredibly gory. All three of the films were successful with audiences and critics. I don’t think any of us will forget what a face looks like sliced up by a bread slicer. It was a gnarly site that I’m certain was played and replayed. According to R.L. Stine himself, another ‘Fear Street’ is coming to Netflix.
