    There's a new fire chief in White Rock. The City of White Rock appointed Brad Davie as the new fire chief, as Fire Chief Ed Wolfe announces his retirement after more than 34 years of dedicated service, the city shared in a release. Davie joins White Rock with an extensive background in fire services, emergency response, and healthcare. He has spent more than two decades with the City of New Westminster Fire Department, most recently serving as deputy fire chief, the release noted.

    Earl Marriott Secondary has always been welcoming of elementary students from the area's schools — especially when it comes to basketball. In addition to hosting Grade 7 basketball championships each year, the school is adding a new skill development camp that will be run by junior and senior EMS student athletes and coaches, EMS athletic director Russ Heggie shared. Grade 7 champions at this year's tournament were White Rock Elementary (girls), and Laronde Elementary (boys).
