Mansour et al. are thanked for keeping the difficulties in detecting deep rectosigmoid endometriosis at the forefront of surgical concerns. They have covered the possibility that deep pelvic ultrasound, rectal ultrasonography, colonoscopy, and MRI may decrease the chance that these lesions are missed (1). Their use of imaging supports Griffiths et al., who reported 14 (88%) of 16 cases with rectovaginal endometriosis missed at a first laparoscopy (2).
