Dear reader,This week we said goodbye to our biggest group of interns ever – 14 from the S.I. Newhouse School at Syracuse University and one from SUNY Oswego. It’s a labor of love for our newsroom editors to take the next generation of journalists under their wings, but it’s also a mutually beneficial relationship. The students gain valuable real-world experience, and we’re able to publish additional stories beyond what our main staff is pursing.

His work mainly focuses on trending news topics and local entertainment, but he also has a passion for music and radio, working part-time as a DJ despite having a hearing impairment. Dear reader,You should consider yourself lucky if you don’t know what it’s like to wait for hours for treatment in a hospital emergency room. At the end of 2022, I spent several days in Upstate University Hospital’s emergency room after my mom had a stroke and the hospital had no rooms available for her. I saw firsthand the overcrowding and chaos in the hallways and waiting room that we’ve been reporting on for several years.
