There are not too many places to find such an assortment of Southern swamp food delicacies in one place ready for the tasting, but those who head South to Crescent City on Saturday will be in luck. Swamp cabbage, gator tail, quail, frog legs and catfish dinners – topped off with strawberry shortcake for dessert – are sure to be enough variety for everyone to find something to their liking at the 43rd Crescent City Catfish Festival, officials said.

Body When a call went out to the Putnam County community to send birthday cards to Edith Poulin, who turns 105 on Sunday, it didn’t go unheeded. There were 445 birthday cards delivered to Radiant Nursing & Rehab at Palatka over the course of a week and all were addressed to the honoree, who celebrated her birthday Thursday at the facility. Freddie Musser, the marketing liaison at the nursing facility, was impressed that the number of cards they were hoping to receive was exceeded by four times.
