Warm, buttery, golden and unapologetically alliumy, garlic bread is the side dish that steals the show. In our house, it’s a nonnegotiable part of pizza and movie nights and the first thing to disappear, usually long before the film has started. Pumpkin soup is more than a meal – it’s an edible sweater, a hug in a bowl, the culinary equivalent of kicking a pile of crisp leaves. While it’s an easy thing to make at home, there are plenty of ready-to-go pumpkin soups available in supermarket aisles and fridges for those without the time or inclination to simmer pumpkin and stock themselves. It’s not another brilliantly outlandish gelato flavour – though those keep coming – but a new kind of ice-cream experience altogether: Erin. Messina’s just-launched wine bar and restaurant is a deepening of the brand’s longstanding experiment with flavour, play and surprise.

One last tweet here to let you know I'm tristangled over on Bluesky (not posting as yet, but would love to find my people over there) xx

RT @thesarahyork: They’d have to pull me away from this like when a horse breaks into the oats supply at the stable

This is the first cast of Taskmaster that hasn’t connected with me at all, which is pretty phenomenal given it’s the 17th season.
