1 Introduction Simulation and reconstruction of trees began in the early 1970s with Honda's work [Hon71]. Various approaches have followed, from visually simple patterns to complex calculations of phytohormone fluxes in the internal structure. But there is no approach that can fully reproduce the complexity of plant growth, and the main question remains: How can we simulate real plant growth?
